Injectables: Neurotoxins, Dermal Fillers and Sculptra
Dermal Fillers and Neurotoxins
Aesthetic Body Design offers aesthetic injectables by highly trained medical staff. We offer wrinkle relaxers, specifically Dysport®, and dermal fillers by Restylane and Sculptra.
What are neurotoxins and dermal fillers, and what are their differences?
Neurotoxins and dermal fillers are both popular treatments in cosmetic medicine. Each serves different purposes and offers distinct benefits:
Neurotoxins (e.g., Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau)
- Wrinkle Reduction: Neurotoxins are primarily used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles. This effect smoothens the skin, especially in areas like the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), and around the eyes (crow’s feet). /
- Preventative Care: They can also be used preventatively to delay the formation of new wrinkles by limiting repetitive facial movements that cause them.
- Non-Invasive: Neurotoxin injections are minimally invasive and typically require no downtime, making them convenient for those with busy schedules.
What areas can you treat with neurotoxins?
Forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, over-energized masseters, lip flip, orange peel chin, Nefertiti neck, platysmal bands, Barbie Botox (traps), and underarm to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Dermal Fillers (e.g., hyaluronic acid fillers)
- Volume Restoration: Dermal fillers are designed to add volume beneath the skin, effectively filling in wrinkles and hollow areas. They can plump up lips, enhance cheeks, and smooth out nasolabial folds (smile lines).
- Enhance Facial Contours: Fillers can sculpt and contour the face, creating a more youthful appearance.
- Longer Lasting Results: Depending on the type of filler used, results can last from several months to over a year.
- Minimal Downtime: Like neurotoxins, fillers typically require minimal downtime, although some swelling and bruising may occur immediately after treatment.
What areas can you treat with dermal fillers?
Cheeks, lips, jawline, temples, under eyes, chin and hands.
Combined Benefits
- Complementary Effects: Many patients combine both treatments for comprehensive facial rejuvenation. Neurotoxins can target dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement, while fillers address static wrinkles and volume loss.
- Customizable: Neurotoxins and fillers are highly customized to each patient’s aesthetic goals and facial anatomy.
- Quick Results: Both treatments provide relatively quick results, often visible within a few days to a week after treatment.
Sculptra
Sculptra helps restore your skin’s foundation by stimulating natural collagen production to smooth the entire cheek region and tighten the skin along the jawline.
Access Total Body is proud to offer Sculptra in addition to our non-invasive collagen induction treatments.
Sculptra is a brand name for a type of injectable dermal filler that is used primarily for facial volumization and contouring. Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid-based fillers, Sculptra’s main ingredient is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible substance that stimulates the body’s natural collagen production over time.
Here’s how it works:
- Injection: Sculptra is injected into the deeper layers of the skin. It is usually used for areas with volume loss or sagging, such as the cheeks, temples, and jawline.
- Collagen Stimulation: PLLA acts as a scaffold, stimulating collagen production in the skin. Collagen is a protein that provides structure and firmness to the skin.
- Gradual Results: The results of Sculptra are not immediate. It typically takes several weeks to months to see the full effect as collagen builds up gradually.
- Longevity: The results can last up to two years or more, depending on the individual and the areas treated.
Sculptra is often chosen by those looking for a more gradual, natural-looking improvement in facial volume and texture rather than immediate plumping effects.
What areas can be treated?
Lower face rejuvenation, BBL Booty, cellulite reduction
Combine this treatment with microneedling, chemical peel, radio frequency treatments, COXY therapy, ProLIFT, or Ultralift.
Typically, clients need two treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart.
